A Nobel Prize winner invited to the Musée Picasso! The Paris museum invites you to discover an exhibition based onOrhan Pamuk's "Musée de l'Innocence", entitled Orhan Pamuk. The Museum of Innocence, from May to August 2025. An exhibition that's a little off the beaten track, proposing a reflection on "the place of the archive" at the heart of cultural institutions, and museums in particular.
A writer who believes "intensely" in literature, so much so that he has come to "extend fiction" by creating a fictional - but still material - archive within this "Museum of Innocence", based in Istanbul. The name comes from one of his novels, based on his many visits to museums around the world. An archive of his favorite museums, the ones that gave him a thrill, the ones that tell "individual stories".
It was through all this material that Orhan Pamuk created his museum, exhibiting "all the real fake objects" kept by the protagonist of his novel, Kemal. A novel, a veritable Proust's madeleine for the writer, about desire and absence. Please note that the book will be available as an exhibition catalog at the museum.
And while you're waiting for the exhibition, you can discover :
