Discover the beginnings and early experiments of the master of American painting, Jackson Pollock, thanks to the Musée National Picasso's exhibition event. From October 15, 2024 to January 19, 2025, the museum invites us to visit the exhibition Jackson Pollock, the early years, to learn more about this essential artist.
This retrospective - the first in France for over 15 years - focuses on the painter's early years, from 1934 to 1947. The exhibition brings together numerous paintings, prints, sculptures and experiments, as well as works by his influences and the great artistic figures of his time, including a certain Pablo Picasso...
Before his first dripping works, which made him a worldwide success, Jackson Pollock was an artist marked by American culture, searching for his own style, his own voice. His early work was strongly influenced by the art of native Americans and Mexican muralists. At the crossroads of cultures, Jackson Pollock was also interested in modern European artists.
The tour highlights this rich culture with works by Charles Pollock, Lee Krasner, William Baziotes, Janet Sobel, André Masson, Pablo Picasso...
In the midst of these great artists, the abstract painter's world really stands out, highlighting the singularity and genius of this painter of abstract expressionism. His works symbolize his origins, his world, deeply marked by thewild, untamedAmerican West from which he hails.
Go back to the source of Jackson Pollock's talent and success, by delving into his early years, on show at the Musée Picasso from autumn 2024.
