For humans, the underwater world is one of silence, where sounds are muffled. Yet the seas and oceans are full of life - and noise! La Seine musicale invites us to plunge into this unusual world, with an immersive sound exhibition, to be discovered from October 16, 2024 to February 1, 2025.
Artists Fabrice-Elie Hubert, Rémi Demarthon and Xavier Tual have captured sounds and images in a variety of underwater environments: you can admire - and listen to! - fish, jellyfish, octopus, micro-organisms... Aquatic animals emit a variety of sounds to communicate, collaborate or intimidate their opponents. This exhibition in the SeineLab reveals the rich life of the aquatic world, allowing us to see fauna, flora and secrets as we've perhaps never seen them before.
Entitled À l'écoute des poissons et autres crevettes bruyantes (Listening to fish and noisy shrimps), this free exhibition highlights the aquatic world, its wonders... And its fragility. With these images and sounds, the artists also want to alert the public to the importance of preserving these highly diverse ecosystems. Science and art work together to make us discover and love this underwater world.
The exhibition reveals a mysterious, massive and yet largely unknown world to humans. What noise do fish make? Find out in this free exhibition at La Seine musicale.
