A sacred monster of school literature, but also an accomplished artist, on show at the Musée de Montmartre! The cultural establishment invites you to discover its new exhibition on Jacques Prévert, entitled Jacques Prévert, rêveur d'images, on view from October 18, 2024 to February 16, 2025.
Much appreciated and recognized for his humor and whimsy, Jacques Prévert also put his imagination to work in the visual arts. Over 150 paintings, drawings, photographs, lithographs, manuscripts, film extracts, objects and archives plunge us into the astonishing, surreal world of the artist, friend of Braques, Picasso and many others.
Textures, collages, colors, zany characters in real places: Jacques Prévert plays with contrasts to create new, original realities. Poetic and dreamlike, these works reflect a vision of the world imbued with magic and wonder, almost childlike.
The exhibition at the Musée de Montmartre is divided into four chapters, tracing the artist's life, the great diversity of his works, his intimacy and creative space, and the way he transformed everyday life into art.
Don't miss this lovely, poetic exhibition at the Musée de Montmartre this autumn and winter!
