The Lantern Festival returns to the Parc de la Villette in Paris for its 2024 edition

Looking for an enchanting experience with family and friends just a few weeks before Christmas? Then head to the Parc de La Villette for the latest edition of the Fête des Lanternes in Paris. This year's parade of lanterns takes place on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 5pm, and promises to amaze young and old alike.

Every year since 2015, the lantern parade has brought passers-by together around lights to our delight. And this year is no exception to tradition, as the Lantern Festival returns once again to La Villette. The concept? Wander around with a hundred lanterns in hand, illuminating the Parc de la Villette for the duration of a poetic and musical march.

Please note that there will be no distribution or sale of lanterns on site on the day of the event. These lanterns, made of paper, silk and wicker, are produced beforehand in dedicated workshops. Please note that no flying lanterns will be released on December 7. Instead, the public is invited to follow this magnificent procession and discover the Parc de la Villette from another angle, by candlelight.

The lantern parade is part of the "Winter Party" program of Christmas festivities, which this year includes the Little Villette space, a circus and a Christmas village.

These events are taking place alongside other festivals of lights and Christmas strolls that are sure to brighten up the month of December 2024 in Paris.
