One of the capital's not-to-be-missed events for car enthusiasts is the Traversées de Paris, one in summer, the other in winter, during which vintage vehicles criss-cross the capital! It's the perfect way to give onlookers the impression of stepping back in time a few decades, for an unusual return to the past! Organized by Vincennes en Anciennes, the Traversée hivernale returns to the capital on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
How does it work? Drivers of vintage cars, tractors, motorcycles, mopeds and even bicycles, whether or not they belong to theVincennes en Anciennes association, sign up to take part in the event, before happily cruising around the capital. It's also possible to get tickets to climb aboard Renault buses from the 1930s, and discover part of Paris's heritage in a whole new way! Nearly 700 vehicles over 30 years old are expected to take part, for a timeless ride.
The crossing begins in Vincennes, on the south side of the château, before heading for the capital. For the occasion, alunch at the panoramic restaurant of the Vincennes racecourse is offered, at a cost of 75 euros for adults and 25 euros for children. A highly original outing in period Paris!
