Les Illuminations de Noël des Champs-Élysées 2024: Tony Estanguet kicks off the event

The illuminations of the Champs-Élysées in Paris await you await us from November 24, 2024. With Christmas just around the corner, Christmas trees and illuminations are making a comeback, and the Champs-Élysées are not missing a beat! The most beautiful avenue in the world will once again sparkle with a thousand lights from November 24, 2024. The magic of the festive season returns to Paris!

Theinauguration of the illuminations will take place this year on Sunday, November 24, 2024. The launch is usually attended by one or more celebrities acting as godparents, as well as the mayors of Paris and the 8th arrondissement. The launch was attended by Karl Lagerfeld, Lili-Rose Depp and Gilles Lellouche. After an enthusiastic countdown, they pressed a button together, and the world's most beautiful avenue was immediately decked out in lights. This year's kick-off was given by Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024.

For the occasion, the Champs Elysées will be pedestrianized, and the general public can usually follow the launch via large broadcast screens. And so, Parisians and tourists alike can discover the lights that will illuminate the Champs-Elysées avenue this winter. Ahead of the launch, starting at 4pm, the Band'à Léo, a large Landaise brass band, roams this historic thoroughfare, before giving way to a DJ set from 5pm to 7pm. The band then returns to the stage before Tony Estanguet arrives for the launch. Once the Champs Elysées are illuminated, singer Santa will give a concert before a DJ set takes over again. As an added bonus this year, not far from the Arc de Triomphe, a giant, reusable 13.5-metre-high fir tree can be admired.

These illuminations generally continue until the end of the first week of January, and last throughout the evening until midnight, with the exception of the evenings of December 24th and 31st, when the Champs-Elysées shine all night long.

The lights were recently installed by Blachère Illuminations, a company with an eco-responsible approach, and can be used for three to five seasons. A total of 400 trees are to be covered with garlands in the shape of balloon glass.
