March 21, 2024 marks the return of the International Day of Forests. In Paris and the Ile-de-France region, the ONF (Office National des Forêts) is organizing a number of free events, including conferences, forest walks, exhibitions, workshops and films for children, from March 16 to 24, 2024. A wonderful program designed to showcase trees, wood and forests, and to raise awareness among young and old alike of sustainable forest management and their role in the ecological and energy transition.
It's an opportunity to explore the many facets of the beautiful forests of the Ile-de-France region, before the flagship Nuits des Forêts event in June!
Forêt en scène, free events at the Académie du Climat for Forest Day 2024
On March 23 and 24, 2024, we're off to reconnect with nature with the "Forêt en Scène" event at the Académie du Climat, located in the 4th arrondissement. This free event, orchestrated by the Office National des Forêts (ONF) in collaboration with the Académie du Climat and the City of Paris, promises a fascinating immersion in the world of forests, true treasures of biodiversity and essential pillars in the fight against global warming. Orienteering treasure hunt in Boulogne Billancourt
On International Forest Day, the ESI Business School aims to raise young people's awareness of forest conservation through activities such as treasure hunts and debates, and presentations by professionals from the sector, highlighting the importance of forests for biodiversity and the climate.
Guided walk in the forest of Palaiseau on March 17
A walk to discover the colors and biodiversity of the forest together by distinguishing the trees and creating your own color chart in its various spaces: meadows or clearings, edges, cuttings, wetlands and ponds, old growth forest, undergrowth and plantations, paths and alleys and different plots... all while finding your bearings on the state forest map. Make sure you're well-shod, bring your binoculars or magnifying glasses or your cell phone, and bring your good humor to share your discoveries with the other participants. An almost flat walk (plateau) of around 5 km, where all participants should make some discoveries.
