For orienteering enthusiasts, a group of students is offering a guided tour of the Olympic Games, to learn more about the impact of this event on the capital, both in 1924 and in 2024. Paris 24/24 is a journey in the footsteps of Olympism, which will take place on April 19 and 20, 2024, in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes, but which can also be carried out later independently by the curious, thanks to a downloadable map of the route!
Visitors will be given a map and a list of markers to reach, and will have to find them in order to scan the QR code on them, triggering an audio or video presentation that will transport them back to 1924! Take a trip back in time to the Olympic Games of the last century, 100 years later, and look for differences with the 2024 edition. Along the way, you'll find a few surprises, including sporting events that have now disappeared!
For the adventurous, you can try the race in timed mode, with a final ranking to decide between the participants, but you can also learn by simply having fun! In keeping with the theme, the starting point for the race is right next to the Jaques Anquetil velodrome in the Bois de Vincennes, which was used for the cycling events at the 1900 and 1924 Olympics!
