And above all: where can I get my tickets for the Games? If you've already been able to buy a ticket to attend an Olympic event, you should have received an e-mail confirming your purchase... But not yet your tickets. That's normal: these have been available since May 15, 2024, on an app designed specifically for this purpose. In an interview with Le Parisien, Tony Estanguet explains that this digital application, designed for smartphones, is called Paris 2024 Tickets. Theapplication can be downloaded from this official link.
The application should also enable you to offer or resell tickets to other people. " You'll be able to upload your tickets and decide to redirect them to those you want to offer them to. It will be possible to give the person's identity and telephone number. (...) If, for personal reasons, you end up being more interested and more available, you can try to resell your tickets at the price at which you bought them ", explains the chairman of the organizing committee.
A platform to manage and control ticket distribution, but also to reinforce security during the Games. Once you've bought your ticket and installed the application, " you'll then have to download your ticket: at the last moment, you'll receive a dynamic QR code, which you won't be able to forge or send ", he adds. It's this QR code that you'll need to show at security checks, to gain access to the events.
Exceptions are made for people who are not familiar with new technologies. " If we really don't have a telephone, we'll find a way for people who arrive with a confirmation or printed paper to get in. But it'll be on the bangs," warns Tony Estanguet.
During the Games, it's advisable to carry a spare battery for your phone: the security perimeters in place also require a QR code authorization to circulate.
