Paris, a great hiking terrain? Well, yes, because since 2017, the French Hiking Federation has opened up a fully-marked trail for all walking enthusiasts to take around Paris.

Attention all walkers and urban enthusiasts: Paris now has its own Grande Randonnée (GR) trail, for a 100% Parisian stroll from one end of the capital to the other.

All in all, this long walk of over 50 kilometers will take you through no fewer than 75 green spaces, discovering sports venues used at the Paris Olympic Games in 1900 and 1924, from the Parc de la Villette to the Bois de Vincennes, via the Parc André Citroën, the Bois de Boulogne and many other Parisian landmarks. To follow the itinerary, look out for the white and red markings along the route: if you can't find them, there are also tracks in digital format.

The circuit comprises 13 stages, each ranging from 3 to 5.5 kilometers. The route starts at Porte de la Villette and ends at the same point, as it is a loop around Paris. Designed to support Paris' bid for the 2024 Olympic Games, the route allows walkers to discover former Olympic sites. Discover the route stages and points of interest :
