In the family of racquet sports, there's no need to introduce tennis - famous for its Roland-Garros court and its Parisian clay - badminton... In any case, the latest addition to the facilities offered by the City of Paris for free practice are padel courts, a discipline that is gaining in popularity among amateur sportsmen and women in the capital.
Combining elements of tennis and squash, padel is played in foursomes: two players against two players, on a 10 x 20-meter court, entirely enclosed and glazed. Fun and friendly, the discipline can be played by young and old alike.
So it's at the Ladoumègue sports center in the 19th arrondissement that the new courts will soon open to the public: withfour padel courts created on the basis of converted former tennis courts.
To practice on these brand-new tracks - which are eagerly awaited by fans of the discipline - it's imperative to reserve your time on one of the four tracks. Reservations can be made on the City of Paris website, and cost €20 per hour!
