As Shanghai Disneyland has reopened with many health measures, and that American resorts are about to reopen as well, Disneyland Paris has disclosed in a 200-page confidential document, that our peers at Le Parisien have been able to browse, the health safety scheme that might be implemented with the theme park reopens. The safety scheme is still being discussed with the management board and the union trade representatives, “in social and economical committee”, so are negotiations as for employee’s shifts length.
What does this scheme say? A lot of things, starting with facemasks. They could be mandatory from 11 years old, even though the document also says it could be from 9 years old. As for the park’s employees, same call: mandatory facemask “as soon they enter the place, all the time and at any moment in the paths, backstage or in the buildings” of the home office. A mask they can remove for lunch or to drink, and that will be not mandatory for people working outside the parks, on their own in their offices or their cars.
Moving on to rides, the board seems to have proposed “a reduction of the capacity and visual checking of the boarding criteria and the safety system”, depending on the ride, and the queue. For instance, rides such as Star Tours or It’s a small world might have a row of seats in two that will be left empty. New rules for boarding and disembarking guests might be implemented. As for the FastPass system, it is kept but Single Riders queues are no longer open.
As for shows, whether they are indoors or outdoors, a lot of things are changing as well, as outdoor shows are cancelled. Moving on to meet and greet with characters, no more contacts with guests, and even characters standing on raised spots. Please note that selfie spots might be set up, “with decorations or embedding characters in photo editing” Le Parisien explains.
Drastic cleaning of each zone is planned, with the closure in turn of bathrooms for deep cleaning, as well as setting up 700 hand sanitizer distributors on the walls, 360 stand distributors, and 1,300 bottles in every corner of the parks: backstage, changing rooms, rest rooms, bathrooms, entrances, exits, restaurant checkouts, cafeterias and stores, entrances and exits of rides, ride control towers, entrances of show venues… nothing has been spared.
As for the arrival of guests, to make the flux smooth, two new control tents will be set up by the entrance, on the esplanade François-Truffaut, going from 18 to 24 control lines. As for desks, one in two only will be open, but no ticket will be sold on site. You must book your ticket online if you want to go to the park. So far, no news as for limiting the number of guests has been indicated or spoken about in the document browsed by our colleagues.
Last but not least, as for hotels, the document says cleaning will be reinforced and several services will be no longer provided such as parking valet, swimming pool, playgrounds for children, gyms, and other gathering areas, excluding restaurants. Measures that will have to be validated to be set up when the park reopens. So far, no date has been announced.
