Famous theme parks in near Ile-de-France Parc Astérix reopens on June 15, 2020 for a new season. Every day, the theme park will be limited to 5,000 people and no need to come without holding a ticket, you must book your ticket prior to your visit. Here is the health protocol and measures made to welcome you all as you look for thrills and change of scenery near Paris.

Parc Asterix Gallic can welcome visitors again from June 15, 2020. The seasonal theme park inspired by René Goscinny’s universe has been given the green light from the government, and the ticketing service opened on June 3 for this date.

Parc Astérix has been preparing to reopen for weeks keeping health instructions to make sure visitors are welcomed in “irreproachable health conditions” Nicolas Nremer says. It includes setting up hand sanitizer distributors at the entrance and before each ride to disinfect one’s hands, marks on the ground to keep a 2.5-m distance in queues, as well as mandatory facemasks in all rides, frequent disinfection and managing queues with social distancing.

And on June 8, 2020 the 700 seasonal workers have been welcomed for training. To Le Parisien, Greg Cany says “as usual, we must motivate teams, create cohesion and answer all their technical questions they may have. But this year, we must add content as for health measures. First on those they must adopt. But also, on those imposed to visitors. Reception is the entrance of the park. Employees must be able to answer all their questions”.

For its reopening, Parc Astérix has set up a “tributicket for €41 for groups from 5 to 9 people, and for €39 for groups from 10 to 15 people, whereas a scheduled ticket costs €51 for adults and €43 for children. A 5,000-entrance gauge per day has been set, but it is said to quickly move to 10,000.

For this rate, 38 rides out of the 42 set are available, including 21 family-friendly attractions, 7 thrilling attractions, and 10 rides for children. As for outdoor shows “Reverence” at the Théâtre de Poséidon and “Du Rififi dans la Basse-cour” at the Théâtre du Barde, they are the only ones sustained. The Gallic parade and street entertainments are cancelled to avoid crowds and gatherings.

Moreover, Parc Asterix restaurants will be open, so will be the brand-new Les Quais de Lutèce four-star hotel in the heart of the Parc Régional de l’Oise, and 3-star hotel Les Trois Hiboux.

For the record, the season was said to start on April 4, 2020. The coronavirus epidemic and the lockdown it caused in France have decided otherwise.

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
