With the arrival of summer, Paris is transformed! One by one, the streets and gardens of the capital take on the colors of spring, as flowers bloom throughout the season. After cherry trees and wisteria in bloom, this time we invite you to discover the most beautiful spots to admire magnolias in bloom in March.
Named after the French botanist Pierre Magnol, magnolias bloom between March and April. They are very old flowers, first recorded 65 million years ago, and are frost-resistant! They can be found just about anywhere in Paris, including right next to the Eiffel Tower, at the beginning of the Champ de Mars.
To admire them for sure, head for the Parc Floral de Paris, a must for all plant and flower enthusiasts, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the city, in the 16th arrondissement.
Magnolias can also be found in the Jardin du Palais Royal, next to the Louvre. This garden often goes unnoticed, with tourists preferring to photograph themselves in front of Buren's Columns. But surrounded by its beautiful arcades, it's home to sublime magnolias, particularly well cared for. The better-known Jardin des Tuileries is also home to these beautiful flowers in spring, between two fountains!
On the Quais de Seine, strollers will enjoy the many magnolias outside theHôtel de Ville, notably in the Jardin des Combattants-de-la-Nueve or around the statue of Etienne Marcel, near theEglise Saint-Eustache. Not forgetting the Jardin du Luxembourg, Parc de Bagatelle or Parc Montsouris!
Perfect spots to smell the sweet, pleasant scent of magnolias as you stroll along, or to take a photo!
