The Rendez-vous aux Jardins event, which takes place from June 2 to 4, 2023, enables the general public to discover the country's public and private gardens, as well as their cultural, historical and botanical heritage. The aim? To raise public awareness of the importance of gardens and nature in our daily lives, and their contribution to the environment and biodiversity. Visitors can meet the owners and gardeners, learn to recognize the different species of plants and trees, discover the history and architecture of the gardens, and take part in various activities and events.
It's an opportunity to spend some quality time in some of the capital's or Ile-de-France's lesser-known and hidden green spaces, including the superb garden of the Musée de la vie romantique, in Paris's 9th arrondissement. This little corner of paradise, located in the Nouvelle Athènes district, backs onto George Sand's former home, which now houses the museum.
A haven of peace in the middle of the city, with boxwood-lined paths and colorful flowerbeds, you can admire numerous varieties of roses, peonies and other plants evocative of the Romantic era. The garden, which welcomes you this June 3, is also known for its charming open-air tearoom, serving hot drinks and homemade pastries.
