If you pass by the Place du Panthéon from June 1 to 7, 2023, you will be surprised to come across two very original dragons during your stroll! As part of the Quartier du livre festival, whose theme is travel this year, the artist Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine is putting up a giant fresco representing the journey of a large origami dragon, between Paris and the Great Wall of China, as well as two giant origami glass sculptures! This 1000m2 canvas will then fly to China, to be exhibited in Huang Hua Cheng.

This mythical creature with different symbolism according to beliefs and traditions, is the ideal link for a correspondence between the two countries, for the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Franco-Chinese relations. The scultprues, made of red polycarbonate, are inscribed with the painting"The Voyage of the Dragon" using the caviar ink technique.
But pictures are better than long speeches, so we can't wait to see this work installed in large format in front of the Pantheon! The art installation, presented at the Grand Palais in February 2023, will come to adorn the Great Wall of China in June 2024, the year of the dragon, where it embodies luck, power and nobility of soul.
