Good news for lovers ofunusual outdoor flowerinstallations! This summer, at Bercy Village, we'll be looking up to admire a new artistic creation by Patrícia Cunha. After the success of her colorful balloons in 2019 and glittering umbrellas in winter 2021, the famous and talented Portuguese artist offers us a new poetic and immersive journey, once again taking over the 200 meters of cobblestones of the Cour Saint-Émilion.
From June 10 to September 15, 2023, discover 1,200 colorful umbrellas adorned with 1,200 sunflowers suspended in the Bercy Village sky. Umbrellas have already taken over this Parisian district, but this time they're back, enhanced by a host of sunflowers, to pay tribute to the legendary work of Vincent van Gogh, 170 years after his birth.
Thanks to this original, free installation, passers-by are immersed in a rural, flower-filled atmosphere, to be immortalized without moderation for over three months in Paris.
Following this new summer installation, the thousands of umbrellas and sunflowers will be donated by Bercy Village to two associations ( Secours Populaire and Fondation Ré-enchantement) " to be redeployed and thus bring cheerfulness in a logic of solidarity and sustainability ".
