Many of Paris's establishments hide real little treasures and pleasant green spaces, where it's good to relax in the shade during the heat waves that hit the capital. Starting in September, the garden of theInstitut National des Jeunes Aveugles will open its doors to the public at weekends and during school vacations, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, just off the Duroc metro station.
This bucolic space of almost 2300m2, until now reserved exclusively for the school's students, is becoming accessible to everyone, a few days a week, following a decision by the Paris City Council, which wants to green the capital more and more. This pretty garden has become a sensory garden, to enable young blind people to appreciate the beauty of the natural world around them. All passers-by on the rue de Sèvres will benefit from this development.
Some work will be carried out this summer, notably to open up public access opposite the Necker hospital. The Institute's building will remain closed to the public, but INJA is planning to build a cecifoot pitch there - the first in France!
