Disneyland Paris struck a chord for the French National Holiday! On July 14, the theme park made its mark with a world record, recognized by Guinness World Records: the " Largest aerial image of a fictional character formed by drones/multirotors ". With some 1,571 drones lighting up the sky, a gigantic tricolored Mickey Mouse head dazzled spectators above Sleeping Beauty Castle.
This performance was made possible thanks to the close collaboration between the Disneyland Paris show teams and Dronisos, Europe's official drone technology supplier. Months of preparation went into orchestrating this innovative show, which combined pyrotechnics, light shows and drone choreography with never-before-seen tableaux. Visitors were transported on a 12-minute visual journey, featuring iconic sequences from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios films connected with France, such as Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, and Ratatouille, as well as iconic symbols of French culture.
" We're delighted and proud to have been awarded this Guinness World Records title," says Ben Spalding, Show Producer at Disneyland Paris. Matthieu Robin, Creative Show Manager, added: " This achievement underlines our commitment to providing unforgettable experiences for our visitors.
In addition, Disneyland Paris continues to charm its visitors with the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, a nocturnal parade launched in January 2024. This show, featuring over 500 drones, parades over Sleeping Beauty's Castle with lasers, video projections and fountains. The magic continues this summer and autumn... Ready to fill up on magic?
