A star-studded inauguration. TV hosts, models, former Miss France, musicians... Many well-known faces, including Valérie Bègue, Sylvie Tellier and Nagui, came to celebrate the opening of Le Fidèle, a new restaurant and cocktail bar in the very chic6th arrondissement, on Thursday April 27, 2017. Among them, one figure towering over the audience magnetized all eyes. That of Camille Lacourt.
The four-time world champion swimmer wasn't just there to have fun. He was the new owner of the premises. In partnership with his friend Gilbert Kadosh, the athletic man with the advantageous physique and imposing stature has bought the former Saint-Germain theater to turn it into a party venue where people come to sip a cocktail while listening to a jazz concert at the beginning of the evening, before shaking their hips on the dance floor until the early hours of the morning to the sound of frenzied DJ sets .
The rococo ambiance of , with its upholstered bar, red velvet banquettes and baroque mirrors, extends over 250 square metres, spread over two mezzanine levels. The layout reflects the history of these walls, which once housed a theater in the Roaring Twenties.
After serving for a time as an events venue, the address on rue du Sabot has become a festive spot, offering cocktails (16 euros) with evocative names such as " le Poison par Camille Lacourt ", made with tequila, jasmine syrup and pistachio macaroon, or " l'Amoré moi par Laure Manaudou ", with vodka and limoncello, enhanced with basil and fresh raspberries.
In terms of cuisine, Le Fidèle's menu is a mix of land and sea, with Thai-style frogs' legs (25 euros), shrimp fritters (18 euros), a trilogy of mini burgers (25 euros) and charcuterie and cheese plates (20 euros each).
But why the faithful, anyway? " It's a place dedicated to evenings out with friends, and for me, loyalty is an essential value in friendship ," confides Camille Lacourt, visibly well surrounded for the inauguration of his new nocturnal haunt.
