La Mer à Boire, the delicious terrace by the Seine

Craving vacations? How perfect! We have found you a seaside-inspired terrace in Paris. for the third year, the temporary La Mer à Boire terrace is back in Paris 13^th arrondissement for Parisians’ and tourists’ greatest joy. Set within walking distance from the Jardin des Plantes, this huge 500sqm terrace invites you to go easy on their deckchairs or toast with friends, on one of the big tables.

Set just across the Off Seine barge, La Mer à Boire blows a vacation breath over the capital city thanks to its chill vibe, views on the barges, and mouthwatering menu. Here, enjoy seafood from small local Breton producers. If you love seafood, we highly recommend the Grande Assiette de la Mer (€26) including 6 oysters, 6 prawns, whelks, along with homemade mayonnaise.

Everything is fresh and tasty, although in Paris, sea does not seem to be so far away. Another heart-stopper is the Crab Roll, a version of the famous lobster roll but based on crab. This homemade sandwich with delicious brioche and toasted bread makes foodies very happy with a flavorful recipe.

To pair these delicious seafood-based dishes, fall for La Mer à Boire cocktails. This year, in partnership with Cointreau, La Mer à Boire serves 4 cocktails based on this orange liqueur including the staple Margarita served in a classic or iced version. As for us, we went for the Frutti Margarita with strawberry and the Smokey Mule with a smokey taste: two heart-stoppers!

Last but not least, as for dessert, the Breton tiramisu made us melt in delight by revisiting the famous Italian dessert with even more mouthwatering ingredients such as shortbread and salted butter caramel. We love it and highly recommend!

Furthermore, on Wednesdays, La Mer à Boire hosts “food-pairing” nights with oysters and Margarita with an “Oyster Shooter” offer for €5 including a margarita and an oyster, and a “cocktail margarita” offer for €15 including a margarita and three oysters. Calling all fans!
