Hellfest Corner has taken over Paris! Benjamin Barbaud, founder and director of Hellfest, made the announcement during the review of the 2019 edition of his metal festival. A Hellfest-branded bar has now opened its doors in Paris. After a pre-opening ceremony on November 22 and 23, the bar officially welcomed its first customers on November 27.
And it's at N°37 rue Quincampoix, in the 4th arrondissement, that the bar has taken up residence, exactly where Dr.Feelgood Les Halles used to be; an establishment already very popular with the capital's metalhead community.
So, what does Hellfest Corner have in store for you? Co-managed by Laurent Rossi (former director of Jive Epic), in partnership with Matthieu Drouot (Gérard Drouot Productions), the bar's mission is to offer a space " where the spirit of conviviality, fraternity and sharing of France's biggest extreme music gathering will live on... To fill the 362 days of the year when Hellfest doesn't take place ".
In terms of décor, Hellfest Corner hits the nail on the head with unique pieces (tables, chairs, etc.) created especially for the occasion by Bungalow Bunker, the team already responsible for the festival's decor. We love the little details everywhere, especially around the counter.
As for the bar, the Hellfest Corner is banking on diversity, with beers of course, but also a wine list with some fifteen references (available very soon). Lovers of clever beverages will be delighted to find cocktails on the menu, named after the famous Hellfest stages (Warzone, Altar, Temple...). Burgers, hot dogs, chili con carne and vegetarian options are also available.
In the basement, there's a different atmosphere, with ashop selling Hellfest and Hellfest Corner merchandise, as well as clothing from Hyraw and Crève, vinyl (with several rarities and exclusives), jewelry by Flibustier, and books, notably by Cédric Sire. The venue will also offer meetings and book signings , but no concerts.
Needless to say, the Hellfest bar in Paris is likely to become the new HQ for metalheads in the capital. So get yourself down to the 4th arrondissement to discover the Hellfest Corner.
The 15th edition of Hellfest will take place in Clisson on June 19, 20 and 21, 2020. On the program? System of a Down, Korn, Deep Purple, Faith No More, Deftones, Incubus, Volbeat, Judas Priest, Airbourne, Sepultura, Babymetal and Mayhem. Unsurprisingly, the 3-day passes sold out within hours of going on sale.
Hellfest also recently unveiled a partnership with FC Nantes. On October 30, on the occasion of the League Cup Round of 16, the Canaris displayed their new shirts in the colors of the metal festival!
