In the heart of the Hôtel Maison Mère set in Paris 2nd arrondissement, a buzzing venue is getting more and more talked about. Hey Honey is the uncommon spot attracting Parisians and tourists like honey bees. This restaurant-bar delights us because it looks like a trendy beehive with colorful honeycombs in an intimate atmosphere made of velvet and red neon lights.
Enjoy inventive cooking created by Swiss-Colombian chef Santiago Guerrero serving French fusion dishes, namely French gastronomy mixed to flavors from all over the world. In turns, you can enjoy black pudding with burnt grapefruit, Nopal tacos smoked under a cloche, duckling fillet and gratin dauphinois spruced up with black beer sauce and homemade Sichuan and Korean-style pickle terrine.
Between dishes to share, comfort food and street food, the least we can say is the place suits all your cravings. Desserts included. Hey Honey surprises us with uncommon twists: pineapple-Sichuan pepper, Valrhona chocolate ganache and tarragon, and Ossau Iraty cheese with jalapeño spread; in other words, you shall expect the unexpected.
Moving on to cocktails, Hey Honey once again invites us to try an uncommon experience with creations echoing your feelings. Depending on your mood of the moment, try the Insouciance [Frivolity] (Whisky Monkey Shoulder infused with popcorn, apple, cardamom, yellow lemon), express your Colère [Anger] (Tequila Vencidad, Ginger beer, Chartreuse Verte, Espelette pepper, lime), go for the Evasion [Getaway] (Rum Spice Sailor Jerry, Rum overproof Smith & Cross, H.Theoria “Midi Fauve”, banana, mango, passion, lime) or enjoy a sweet Harmonie [Harmony] (cucumber, elderflower, lime, tonic, alcohol-free). All in all, about a dozen emotions adapted by bartender chef Mathieu Aliche are available.
But this is not all, on weekends, Hey Honey lives to the rhythm of a festive programing: on Friday nights, attend a burlesque show, on Saturday nights, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., enjoy the Bingo Drag aperitivo. Concerts, DJ sets and more events are to be regularly held in this busy beehive. Stay tuned and check Maison Mère website to find out more.
