Cuillier is THE coffee roaster of Faubourg Saint-Honoré. We were delighted to discover his first shop, which doubles as a coffee lounge, just a few steps from Les Abbesses, in the quiet Montmartre district!

Since 1844, Cuillier has been sourcing the finest coffees from the four corners of the globe, roasting them in Paris and creating mouth-watering, tasty blends. Our passionate staff take into account the flavors, the work of the growers, the seasonality and the climate of the country to collect the coffee at the most opportune moment, when the aromas are at their most developed.

While we're familiar with the roaster and his fine vintages and blends, we'd never had the opportunity to enjoy good coffee in a quiet, calm setting. Of course, Cuillier did have a small corner at Galeries Lafayette, but nothing really pleasant for appreciating coffee at its true value.

This mistake has been rectified, and in a very pleasant setting indeed. At the foot of Montmartre, just a few meters from the Abbesses station, Cuillier's good coffee can be found in a pleasant little salon, away from the noise and bustle. All year round, and in rotation, you'll find 4 grands crus (depending on the season and the plantations), and a blend, always sweet and fruity, to be tasted on the premises but also available for purchase.

It's a place that makes you want to stay, to savor the moment, to relax; the team is so friendly that you feel at home, and the barista loves his art so much that each coffee is an event, and it's so good!

There are several secrets to the success of his coffees: months of research to meet producers, dozens of roasting tests, tastings galore, a competition coffee machine - the Vittoria Arduino Black Eagle 3 - demineralized water that makes all the difference, and baristas trained by the best! All this to enjoy the tastiest possible coffee, prepared your way, filter-style, espresso-style or even Chemex-style (coffee filtered by hand).

And to accompany your coffee, there are cakes - lemon, chocolate or praline - madeleines, granola and even savoury tartines for lunch! Speaking of chocolate, chocolate lovers will have the chance to sample a succulent homemade hot chocolate made with good whole milk and Cuillier chocolate.

Well, we've fallen in love with the place and we'll be back!
