Paris's 10th arrondissement has a new Italian street food hotspot to add to your list: VAFAMOC. Forget everything you know about pizza, the star here is panzerotto! Just a stone's throw from the Canal Saint Martin, discover this specialty straight from the land of the Botte.

Looking for a gourmet getaway that's off the beaten track? Head for VAFAMOC, the new haunt in Paris's 10th arrondissement that's sure to get your taste buds tingling. The star here is panzerotto, a hybrid delight that's part pizza, part sandwich, reinventing Italian street food.
What's panzerotto? A golden dough, first fried for a crispy texture, then topped with ultra-fresh ingredients, before a final pass through the pizza oven for a crispy-melting result. Yes, it's as good as it sounds!

VAFAMOC is the little sister of BOBBY, the Italian restaurant that's been rocking the 18th since 2022. This new nugget, designed by pizzaiolo Jacques Bizot and his sidekick Geoffroy Valette, uses the same recipe that made BOBBY such a success: carefully sourced, seasonal and local products whenever possible, such as mozzarella and mushrooms from the Paris region, complemented by weekly arrivals of treasures straight from Italy.

VAFAMOC's panzerotto pays tribute to a little-known Neapolitan classic: deep-fried pizza. A genuine calzone dipped in oil, this specialty is reinterpreted here for a slightly lighter, but still tasty experience. Here, the panzerotto is crispy, melting and reminiscent of a doughnut without being one. Best-sellers? The more traditional version with tomato sauce, smoked provola (Italian cheese) and pepper, or the highly addictive mix of mushrooms, mozza and parsley. These are "little" bombs to be devoured on the spot, in this intimate 14-seat spot, or better still, on a stroll along the Canal Saint Martin, just a few steps away.

At the same time, the VAFAMOC menu also features Italian "fritti", those little guilty pleasures we love, such as arancini all "amatriciana (rice balls filled with tomato & mozza sauce) or Neapolitan crocchè di patate (potato croquettes).

For the more adventurous who would like a dessert, the address offers to close the hostilities with fried pizza balls topped with chocolate hazelnut cream or the unmissable tiramisu. All served in a relaxed atmosphere, where the name of the restaurant, inspired by a spicy Neapolitan expression, sets the tone: taste is no laughing matter here!
