Asian street food fans, you're in for a treat: the Festival de la Lune has been announced by the Mairie du 11e, in Belleville, this Saturday, September 14, 2024. We're off to conquer this district renowned for its gourmet cuisine, with its many Asian restaurants, as well as for holding the famous Food Market, one Thursday a month! The Festival de la Lune is located near the Belleville metro station (lines 2 and 11) and stretches along the entire boulevard de Belleville.

On the program for this 3rd edition of the Belleville Moon Festival is the celebration of the Moon Festival! Also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, this is a traditional Chinese celebration held each year on the brightest full moon, on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. Symbolizing family reunion and gratitude for the harvest, this event is marked by gatherings, offerings to the moon, and the tasting of the famous mooncakes. In addition to China, this festival is celebrated in many Asian countries such as Vietnam, Korea and Japan, where it takes on local forms and meanings, but retains the essence of harmony and unity under the benevolent light of the moon.
