After a successful first French opening in Les Batignolles, a new Tribe hotel opened its doors on the Courbevoie side of La Défense on May 24. With the same desire to offer travelers a hotel "just like home", where it's good to spend time in common areas designed to be as convivial as possible, leaning against the bar counter, sitting in the restaurant 's plush banquettes, or soaking up the sun on the discreet terrace on the second floor of the establishment.
Accessible by public transport, and in particular metro line 1 which is a 7-minute walk away, Tribe Paris La Défense boasts 184 rooms and suites designed byarchitect Thierry d'Istria, 7 of which even boast a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance - if you lean out carefully from the balcony.
Inside the rooms, which vary in color from floor to floor, from a soothing yellow to a deep emerald green, you'll find all the comforts you need for a pleasant stay and a restful night's sleep: first-rate bedding with a high, very high (!) mattress, a desk for working, a modern bathroom, and as a bonus, a Nespresso machine, Chromecast for watching your favorite series and films on the big screen, and beauty products signed by Australian hairstylist Kevin Murphy.
Set in a rather remote corner of La Défense, it's worth noting that the Tribe Paris La Défense hotel is as quiet as a cemetery, with rooms overlooking the street or the interior terrace, which can be privatized for any event. So there's no risk of being disturbed by street or neighbor noise!
At the heart of the common areas, the hotel's restaurant unveils a menu partly inspired by Australia, the birthplace of the Tribe brand. From Monday to Friday at lunchtime, and every evening at dinner, the restaurant, which can seat up to 80 diners, offers a crispy meat pie (€14) with Australian sauce; gravlax salmon (€14) with crunchy fennel and walnut oil mayonnaise; pollack fish and chips (€19); and Asian-inspired tartare au couteau (€18).
We'd like to warn you right away: all dishes are served very generously, so make sure you're very hungry! For even more discovery, Australian wines are also available by the glass, and these turn out to be of very good quality. Alternatively, you can opt for a cocktail creation, to be sipped at the bar or during the meal.
The Tribe Paris La Défense's highly original cocktails, created by mixologist Matthias Giroud, are prepared by an attentive team to ensure you have a fun-filled evening. The Negrotea (14€), for example, is a blend of tea liqueur infused with Timut pepper, Campari, amber St Raphaël Quina and Angostura. A gin bar is also due to open soon, upstairs.
As for breakfast, an essential part of any stay at the hotel, it's served until 10:30 every morning, ideal for late risers, and features sweet and savory dishes, hot and cold, in buffet form. And to burn off your food, a fitness room is available to hotel guests every day from 7am to 10pm.
A design hotel with no fuss, where it's good to spend some time!
