La Plaine de l'Angélus, a charming B&B located just 2 km from Barbizon and close to Fontainebleau, is a gem that we warmly recommend. Whether you're looking for a cocoon for a romantic weekend away, or an ideal gîte for your family, this is sure to meet your expectations.
Nestling in the heart of a one-hectare park, this period residence promises you an exquisite stay, where well-being and refinement blend harmoniously.
La Plaine de l'Angélus welcomes you to a verdant setting, with a swimming pool open in fine weather and a gîte in the garden, ideal for a stay with family or friends. As soon as you enter through the gates, the majestic manor house reveals itself, promising a top-notch stay.
The three bedrooms, each with a breathtaking view over the park or the plain, offer comfortable, private living spaces. All have en suite bathrooms, private toilets and free Wi-Fi access. The Anemone Suite and Peony Room, with their walk-in showers, and the Palm Room, with its bathtub, are all spacious and comfortable. We love the tea and coffee room, where you can enjoy unlimited tea and coffee with a few sweet treats, proof of the delicate attentions of the owners.
On the first floor, the dining room, adorned with Rudelle's beautiful country-style frescoes, and the large communal lounge, with its library and large sofas, not forgetting its beautiful fireplace, are places for sharing and conviviality. With its antique furniture and seasonal decorations, this is a charming place to be.
Breakfast, the highlight of the day, is a real taste experience. The Italian-born owner offers home-made charcuterie, gourmet cheeses, local viennoiseries, homemade pastries and French toast. From fresh fruit to homemade jams, it's a treat. It's also a feast for the eyes, as the owner, a fan of fine English and Chinese tableware, has a collection to make Marie-Antoinette tremble with envy.
Free parking is available in the courtyard opposite the house, and bicycles are available on loan for exploring the surrounding area. Bicycles are also available on request.
The park, with its flowered areas, terraces and swimming pool, invites you to relax. For the more active, there's a boules pitch. La Plaine de l'Angélus also offers spacious rooms and grounds for events. Don't miss this tree with its unusual huge vertical branch. Although the venue does not offer table d'hôte dining, a local catering service is available for on-site dining.
In short, whether you're looking to recharge your batteries in the heart of nature, spend some romantic time together or feel right at home, La Plaine de l'Angélus, where every detail has been thought of for your comfort and pleasure, ticks all the boxes.
