Bal du Siècle 2024 at the Château de Versailles: an exceptional evening in the heart of the Roaring Twenties

From Louis XIV to the present day, the Château de Versailles has seen many memorable parties and evenings. On June 30, 1923, to celebrate the end of its restoration, the monument organized a "Fête Merveilleuse", which left a lasting impression. A century later, how about a repeat performance?

This Monday, December 9, 2024, the Château de Versailles invites you to take part in the second edition of its Bal du Siècle. From waltzes of the late 19th century to contemporary songs, foxtrot, American jig, tango, Charleston and Pol Jones, get ready to set the dancefloor alight, and spend a magical evening in the Galerie des Batailles.

Line dances, group or couple dances, romantic and festive rhythms: whatever your style, you should find something to enjoy. And if you don't quite master the music of yesteryear, don't panic: professional dancers will be on hand to give you a demonstration.

We can see you heading for the dance floor, but don't forget to take a stroll around the castle too: entertainment awaits you in the monument's key areas. Dance performances in the Galerie des Glaces, comedians and games in the Grands Appartements de la Reine, a short concert by the Royal Opera Orchestra... Not forgetting, of course, the fireworks display that lights up the gardens, to be admired from the famous Galerie des Glaces.

Depending on your ticket, you have access to a number of additional activities. Ruby and Diamond visitors can discover the Attiques du Midi, rooms usually closed to the public, and populated on this particular evening by funny actors...

A buffet is available throughout the evening. Champagne is offered freely to Ruby and Diamond guests during the ball. After midnight, it's time for more contemporary rhythms and music, with a wildly modern after-party.

Please note: a festive evening at the Château de Versailles is not just any old event. Guests must respect a dress code: for men, tuxedo, bow tie, dress shoes, and for women, Roaring Twenties-inspired attire or ball gown or prestige evening wear. Masks are not accepted.
