February vacations 2025: workshops and guided family tours at the Musée des Plans-Reliefs

During the February vacations 2025, visit the Musée des Plans-Reliefs for a creative and fun family activity for children aged 6 and over, or take a guided tour with your parents!

From February 15 to March 3, it's February vacation time for little Parisians! For the occasion, many museums in Paris and Île-de-France are offering activities and entertainment for children, such as the Musée des Plans-reliefs, with workshops for young and old alike, from age 6 upwards.

The February 2025 vacation program at the Musée des Plans-Reliefs includes creative activities for children aged 6 and over. Your children can choose between building a Kapla citadel, creating a metal map or playing a strategy game... Each workshop costs €7, and accompanying adults do not pay to attend with their children.

Program:

Build your own Kapla citadel

After exploring the museum, young and old alike can use KAPLA building blocks to recreate the fortifications on the relief plans.

For whom? Children aged 6 to 12

Apprentice strategists

Take part in the siege of Toulon in 1793 alongside Napoleon Bonaparte, thanks to a relief map of the city and a strategy game based on a large map from the museum's archives.

For whom? Children aged 8 to 14

Metal cards

In the workshop, create a personalized gold or silver card: inspired by the tradition of pilgrimage signs, children will put into practice the repoussé metal technique for a creation in relief!

In the spirit of Vauban

How did Vauban defend and attack fortified towns in the time of Louis XIV? Find out in the museum by looking at the relief plans, then head to the workshop for a strategy game based around a large fortification model: building a stronghold, choosing the location of cannons, the number of soldiers, crossfire... all on the program!

Citadel times

Learn all about the construction of citadels as you explore the Relief Plan collection, and create a small scale model in the workshop to take home with you!

Riddles of the Sun King

A series of challenges, games and riddles will lead children and their families to discover the museum's famous characters. Qualities required: observation skills, team spirit and a desire to learn while having fun!
