Since last April, the picorette has been based on avenue de la Résistance in Le Raincy, after many years in a first location in the town. Behind this fun and colorful project, we meet Marion, mother of three daughters and solar entrepreneur, who wanted to create a new place to live in the town where she lives. "When I arrived in Raincy, I saw that there was nothing for children," says the former nurse, who left the hospital to set up her own toy store, "like the ones she knew in Paris and Montreuil".
"La picorette is the store for children and fun-loving parents", says the founder, "all the products we offer in the store I could have at home". Indeed, the selection here is as eclectic as it is varied, ranging from a very large section dedicated to toys, board games, comforters, creative or scientific activities and building sets, to a more "adult" section including fun clothes, accessories, jewelry, tableware and fun tableware. We can't recommend that you explore the picorette's immense collections, especially if you're looking for a gift idea for a birth (for both baby and mom), a birthday, a baby shower... What's more, all products are also available for purchase on the boutique's online site.
The big plus of this huge toy store is certainly thechildren's play area: in the center of the store, it's a cocoon where you can play with tea sets, dolls, toy cars, read a book on the footstools... or put your baby down on the play mat for a gentle family moment. Or you can put your baby down on the play mat for a gentle family moment.
In addition to the boutique, la picorette also offers workshops for children: sophrology, creative workshops and other initations await the little ones every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Older children also have the right to their own workshops, with pilates on offer every week, parents' café and creative aperitif sessions!
Before or after a shopping session, the café Beber - located within the boutique with its saffron-yellow tiled floor and blue-painted columns - allows those who wish to warm up over a hot drink (with vegetable or cow's milk) or a cold one, or even better, Nesquik butter sandwiches (a classic), bread with a chocolate bar and other delicacies straight from the bakery next door, all day long.
With its regressive menu and low prices, the café has quickly become a meeting place for families and local residents alike. " For the tea room, we wanted something transgenerational", explains Marion, "a place where grannies rub shoulders with newborn babies, a place where people can live and meet". So, with Angéline (and the rest of the team), La Picorette is open every day of the week. If you're looking for a must-visit address in Raincy, go for it!
