The 36th medieval festival of Provins

On June 15 and 16, 2019, Provins medieval city, Unesco’s World Heritage List for over 10 years, becomes, like every year, the place to be for the biggest medieval festival in Europe.

For this new and 36th edition of the medieval festival of Provins (called in French 'Les Médiévales de Provins'), come along for two days on June 15 and 16, 2019, to discover a true historical reconstitution of the very famous “Foires de Champagne” that made the fame of the city in the 12th and 13th centuries.

Children and adults will be entertained thanks to medieval activities and games such as shovelboard, skittles, wooden swords and many other entertainments…

Craftsmen and merchants will gather to make you discover the trades and products of yesteryear: leather and stone work, art piece, fabrics, spices, armors, music instruments, etc.

At the foot of the legendary Tour César and the Saint-Quiriace collegiate Church, tales and legends and fantastic songs will trigger everyone’s imagination, while speaking about the believes and superstitions from the Middle-Ages. Dragons, elves and other chimeras will make many adults regress to childhood.

Finally, at the foot of the rampart, camps will make you experience the era’s daily life. Musicians and entertainers will roam the streets of the medieval city.

You don't want to miss either the highlights of the event: the traditional medieval ball at the Place du Châtel, a big medieval concert and the unmissable Sunday's parade including over 500 people dressed in medieval costumes.

An edition promoting "Celebrations and Events" that we're looking forward to.

Come dressed up: the medieval costume has to be complete (top, bottom, shoes and headdress). Fantasy-themed costumes are accepted. You can buy one or rent one in the specialized stores as well as buying one on the spot!
