With a capacity of 80,698, the Stade de France is considered France's largest stadium, and also hosts a number of sporting events every year, including soccer and rugby matches.

Inaugurated on January 28, 1998 by then French President Jacques Chirac, the Stade de France is located in the Plaine Saint-Denis district of Saint-Denis. Although the Stade de France is not located in Paris itself, it's still within easy reach by any means of transport.

How do I get to the Stade de France by public transport?

There are several ways to get to the Stade de France if you're a regular user of public transport. RER, Metro or Tramway, take your pick!

  • RER B : La Plaine Stade de France station
    • La Plaine Stade de France station is 4 minutes from Gare du Nord and 8 minutes from Châtelet.
    • A train every 3 minutes at the end of an event

  • RER D : Stade de France - St Denis station
    • Stade de France - St Denis station is 5 minutes from Gare du Nord and 9 minutes from Châtelet.
    • A train every 6 minutes after the event

  • Metro line 13 : St Denis - Porte de Paris station
    • St Denis - Portes de Paris station is 16 minutes from Saint-Lazare, 20 minutes from Invalides and 25 minutes from Montparnasse.
    • A train every 3 minutes at the end of a demonstration

  • Metro line 12 : Aubervilliers - Saint-Denis Front Populaire station

How do I get to the Stade de France by car?

If you're planning to come to the Stade de France by car, there are several parking lots in the immediate vicinity of the stadium. Depending on your entrance gate, and if several parking lots are offered by the ticketing system, the Stade de France invites you to choose :

  • Parking P1 for gates N, R, S, T, U, X, Y - height limit: 2m10
  • Parking lot P2 for gates H, J, K, L, N, R - height limit: 2m
  • Parking P3 for gates Z, A, B, C, D, E, G, H, J, K - height limit: 2m10


So remember to reserve your parking space in advance on the official Stade de France website " as there will be no on-site sales on the day of the event ", says the website.

The parking lots can be reached by road via the A1 freeway (exit no. 2 Stade de France) and the A86 freeway (exit no. 9 Saint Denis - La Plaine Stade de France).

Once on site, please note that the parking lots are open from 8:00 am to 1:00 am for evening events, and from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm for afternoon events. And don't forget: on the day of an event, access to the Stade de France is restricted. Only accredited and/or ticketed vehicles are allowed to circulate and park.
