France's traditional Fête Nationale military parade returns to Paris on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Exceptionally this year, it will not take place on the Champs-Elysées. Find out more about the program.

Every year, to celebrate France's national holiday, a military parade usually takes place on theChamps-Elysées in Paris. This year, however, the event has been moved to Avenue Foch. The rendezvous is this Sunday morning, July 14, 2024, to witness this tradition of the French National Holiday.

So, what's on the program for the July 14, 2024military parade in Paris? This year, it pays tribute to the 80th anniversary of the Landings, the Liberation of France and Victory. For this special edition ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Military Parade in a few figures looks like this:

Helicopter and Slow Airplane Parade
23 helicopters and 6 airplanes:
- 11 helicopters and 2 planes from the French Army
- 4 helicopters and 2 planes from the French Navy
- 2 helicopters and 1 plane from the French Air Force - 4 helicopters from the French Gendarmerie
- 1 Direction Générale de l'Armement aircraft
- 1 Sécurité Civile helicopter
- 1 Customs helicopter

The detailed program for the July 14, 2024 Military Parade on Avenue Foch in Paris

9.45am: End of setting-up of troops on foot at the Étoile site. Inspection of the troops by the general officer commanding the foot parade.
10h: End of the installation of the Republican Guard honor detachments.
10h17: Arrival of the President of the Republic, avenue de Friedland. Welcomed by General Thierry Burkhard, Chief of Staff of the French Armed Forces (CEMA), accompanied by Lieutenant General Christophe Abad, Military Governor of Paris (GMP). Grand escort of Republican Guard cavalry to Place Charles de Gaulle, then review of troops on foot at the top of Avenue Foch.
10h27: Honors paid to the President of the Republic, at the bottom of Avenue Foch, by the 1st and 2nd Infantry Regiments of the Republican Guard. Welcome by the Prime Minister; the Minister of the Armed Forces; the Secretary of State to the Minister of the Armed Forces, responsible for Veterans' Affairs and Remembrance; and the President of the Republic's Chief of Staff, Air Force General Fabien Mandon.
10h33: Initial entertainment by the Air and Space Music Jazz Band, on the theme of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of France.
10h49: Parade of helicopters and light aircraft, led by Air Force Major General Stéphane Groën, second-in-command of the Air Defence and Air Operations Command (CDAOA).
10:53 am: Parade of the invited foreign nation and the troops honored (Compagnons de la Libération units), followed by the parade of dismounted troops, commanded by Brigadier General Éric Chasboeuf, Deputy Commitment General (GAE) of the Paris defense and security zone and deputy to the military governor of Paris
11:34 am: Parade of aircraft, commanded by Air Division General Stéphane Groën, second-in-command of the CDAOA.
11h40: Parade of mounted troops.
11h 44: Final entertainment on the theme of armies and Olympism.
12 h: Departure of the President of the Republic.
