July 14th is the national holiday in France. For the occasion, the country comes alive with traditional celebrations including fireworks displays, military parades, Republican picnics, popular balls and other festive events. On this date, which commemorates the storming of the Bastille and the Fête de la Fédération, Paris unveils several highlights, including an iconic fireworks show at the Eiffel Tower and a military parade that usually takes place on the Champs-Elysées avenue (exceptionally moved this year).
Around the capital, the Paris region also lends itself to the game, with the various communes of the Île-de-France region unveiling their own programs for July 13 and 14. For some, this means double the festivities, for others it means finding a great program close to home, and for the more adventurous, it means discovering the treasures of the Ile-de-France region.
In the Val-de-Marne, the charming town of Nogent-sur-Marne invites us to experience a festive July 14th. Located to the east of the capital, on the banks of the Bois de Vincennes and the Marne, this commune boasts a beautiful heritage that's well worth a visit. In particular, its Art Nouveau and Art Décoratif architectural heritage can be discovered on a stroll through the city as the festivities approach!
Saturday July 13, 7pm to 1am - Place Maurice Chevalier - Port de plaisance
In this Olympic year, the mayor and his team present a pyrotechnic show created by renowned pyrotechnicians who will take you on a journey around the world.
And that's not all! Right from the start of the evening, let yourself be carried away by the lively melodies played by Mike Meunier, followed by the boundless energy of Ludwig Nestor from 8pm. After the fireworks, DJ Donaccia awaits you in front of the stage to dance to the sounds of summer.
For the duration of the evening, firefighters from the Nogent fire station will be at your service to quench your thirst in their ephemeral bar, and food trucks will be on hand to serve you.
