We're off to Avenue de l'Opéra in Paris to discover Jade Génin's Easter 2024 creations. Undoubtedly one of the best chocolate shops in Paris, Jade Génin's boutique is like a jewelry store, and the chef's chocolates, all handmade, are truly jewel-like. Not surprisingly, this year's signature creation is called"L'Oeuf Joyaux".
For Easter, Jade Génin wanted to have a fairly varied range, not a single egg like some, but a wide range for our greatest pleasure, both in terms of aesthetics and delicacy: painted subjects, sculpted subjects, children's subjects for the little ones, subjects filled with praline or filled with fried and praline eggs. These creations are characterized by Jade's trademark chocolate paint, made using only natural pigments and with an inimitable brilliance, even though these colors don't require a layer of white chocolate as a base. This ensures that the overall taste is not distorted.
The main creation, which actually comes in two versions, introduces us to an Easter chocolate inspired byFabergé's Imperial Egg, which has the peculiarity of opening in the shape of a corolla, like a flower, coupled with Harry Potter's golden egg, which also opens in the same way (you know, the egg Harry fetches from the water in the first trial of the Three Wizards Tournament).
The petals are made of chocolate, covered withcaramelized almonds for texture. The central subject, a smooth egg for the pink version and a frog for the blue, is filled with hazelnut praline. As you'd expect, these eggs are made and assembled by hand, so no two are exactly alike. The hardest part," reveals Jade, "is assembling the petals - no mean feat. Count on 90€ for this unique creation.
There are also hand-sculpted oysters, richly garnished with hazelnut praline. Other visual delights include decorated fish, topped with fried praline, cute teddy bears, surrounded by praline balls as if they were in a ball pool, the golden rabbit topped with praline, not forgetting the bunny that becomes a bear when turned upside down.
Count on €42 for a painted fish topped with praline chocolates, €29 for a gold rabbit, €16 for a bag of hand-painted praline eggs or €30 for a gourmet sculpted oyster. In the end, the hardest part is choosing. In any case, Jade Génin offers one of the finest Easter creations of the 2024 vintage.
