And for the 40th edition of the Journées du Patrimoine, held on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023, theSwedish Institute is highlighting another aspect of its heritage: the building in which it is housed! The latter, the sumptuous Hôtel de Marle, is a magnificent building dating from the late 16th century, acquired over 50 years ago by the Swedish state to house theSwedish Institute. On the occasion of the Heritage Days, we invite you to discover its secrets!
With its painted ceiling, grand staircase and Philibert Delorme-style inverted hull framework, this is a building of exceptional architecture, fascinating history and sublime beauty! And why not take the opportunity to stop off at the Fika coffee shop, serving Swedish specialties.
The FIKA Café at the Swedish Institute
Fika, that's the name of the café that opened its doors at the Swedish Institute. In the paved courtyard of the free cultural site, which puts Sweden in the spotlight, we discover a welcoming and luminous coffee shop with a terrace, which offers us nice Swedish specialties.
