Do you love hidden cafés , those nice spots where you love to sit with your computer while sipping a hot or iced tea or a good coffee with a cinnamon bun? Let's go to the Marais in the courtyard of the Swedish Institute to discover the brand new Café Fika Paris which had pre-opened last June and which is now inaugurating with a wealth of sweets and dishes to be tasted throughout the day.
For your information, fika in Sweden is the little snack you can have throughout the day, the gourmet break you can have up to 7 times a day. It is therefore natural that the coffee adopts this name because it allows us to enjoy ourselves at any time of the day.
At the helm of the café are Caroline and Damien, who have been organizing culinary events with Swedish chefs for 10 years now. Having fallen in love with the country they have traveled to discover its gastronomy and culture, they decided to launch this Swedish café project where they will be able to mix classic Swedish cuisine and pastries in their own way, always with greed and creativity .
On arrival, the atmosphere is relaxed and the setting bright. A counter with pretty sweets faces us and we discover a pretty terrace and an indoor room where a few people in coworking mode work while sipping a coffee .
A la carte:
The spot offers us toast, cranberry dumplings, hot sandwiches, a savory pie, a soup of the day and seasonal salads. On the sweet side, we find the Kannelbulle andother chocolate babkas, chokladbollars, gluten-free Kokos and other unpronounceable Swedish specialties. We especially like the zucchini cake, a version of the zucchini cake that reminds us of the texture of carrot cakes.
As for drinks, we have hot or icedteas and coffees, fresh juices, beers and wines by the glass. Lykke Kaffegârdar, which provides tea and coffee, is a responsible company that grows, produces and roasts their coffee in an ecological and environmentally friendly way. It must be said that coffee in Sweden (second largest consumer in the world) is sacred!
Note that the place is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm and goes into afterwork mode on Thursdays and Fridays until 9pm. If you come to eat Swedish, take advantage of it to discover the exhibition of the moment and why not, settle down in the garden in chill mode, the access is free for all.
So, let's have a nice Swedish break in a charming café?
