On the occasion of the appointment of the talented Anne Coruble as the new Pastry Chef at the Peninsula Paris, and the return of the famous tea time 6 days a week, we went to the intimate setting of the Lobby Restaurant, the restaurant of the palace, to discover and enjoy the new tea time of the chef who has something to seduce you.
Anne Coruble, whose creations we have already discovered at Christmas , is now officially the new Pastry Chef of the palace. Having worked at the Bristol in Paris with Laurent Jeannin and Julien Alvarez, the Normandy-born chef has what it takes to seduce us. Her selection as a Michelin Guide 2021 winner in the Passion Dessert selection proves that we have not heard the last of this young talent.
The Tea Time or Afternoon Tea or even theTea Time for the Peninsula Paris, is served every day from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Count 65€ per person for the classic and 85€ for the Prestige version served with a glass of Champagne. You can add to this the Pause Gourmande which consists of a piece of cake from the pastries buffet, accompanied by a hot drink of your choice for 85€ (break + tea time). The flan is divine, we recommend it!
We like the sublime cookie surprisingly twisted with a black olive ganache. On the pastry side, the grilled Tahitian vanilla with caramelized tobacco leaf is just incredible, we love it. Pavlova lovers will be seduced by the delicious and well-balanced lemon confit.
The salted part imagined by the starred chef David Bizet changes us from finger sandwiches and we validate! The Baba version of langoustine, the pepper shortbread for cheese and truffle lovers. Finally, the crispy scallop with saffron mandarin and caviar is surprising.
