It's a great opportunity to discover hidden and little-known nuggets close to home. In Paris, you can visit the Musée National Jean-Jacques Henner, in the 17th arrondissement, free of charge.
This museum is dedicated to the painter Jean-Jacques Henner, and features some 300 works of art, furniture and antiques, tracing both the life and career of the Parisian artist. This two-storey mansion, located just off the Parc Monceau, gives us a glimpse into the painter 's daily life and society in the 19th century. Margaux Laurens-Neel, presents her end-of-residency exhibition "Henner, le ruban, la braise" from May 15 to September 23 in the museum galleries.
The sixth artist to occupy the museum's artist studio, Margaux Laurens-Neel, born in Deauville in 1997, is a Franco-British painter, photographer and sculptor. She lives and works in Paris. She graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2021, where she studied with comic book artist Joann Sfar, photographer Eric Poitevin and art historian François-René Martin. His career was punctuated by a stay at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and another in Berlin.
" Henner, le ruban, la braise" is the culmination of a work in dialogue with the work of Jean-Jacques Henner, conjuring up his two emblematic motifs: naiads and women in Alsatian costumes and headdresses. Crossing mythologies between the two painters, the emergence of ribbon-capped nymphs, it's also a question of reincarnating models from the past. To question what emerges under the triple nomination of artist-muse-model, between figures of the past and contemporary faces. In the footsteps of Jean-Jacques Henner's obsessive and desirous spirit.
Today, Margaux is accompanied by Galerie Droste, which recently offered her the opportunity to present her first solo show. Through a sensual dialogue between painting and ceramics, she explores the place and representation of women throughout the history of art and figuration, the modes of representation of the naked body, and the expression of feminine desire, through the use of a symbolic bestiary and the language of flowers, clothing, accessories and color...

This year, clowns will be presenting the museum and the Margaux Laurens-Neel exhibition in a way you've never seen before!
As a bonus, an "Hors d'oeuvre" based on the work "Salomé" by Jean-Jacques Henner, which the museum hopes to acquire thanks to participatory funding!
This duo from Nancy works regularly in the Beaux Arts milieu, collaborating with the Musée de Nancy, the Mudaac in Épinal, the Musée Bartholdi in Colmar, the Musée de la Vie Romantique in Paris and now our own.

LES 2 DE LA SPONTANÉE is the meeting in 2020 of two clowns from similar worlds, Ultrason (Lydie Gustin) and Champion (Francis Albiero), who love each other both on stage and off. They get along, admire and have fun together. Together, they are part of the Nancy-based collective LA SPONTANÉE PRODUCTION, which brings together artists and craftsmen in the fields of improvisation and clowning."
