In the heart of the Vallée de Chevreuse, a fascinating town invites you to discover its secrets and the illustrious inhabitants who have trodden its soil. For the Journées du Patrimoine 2024, why not take a tour of Saint-Rémy-les-Chevreuse?

During the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days), rediscover your region, its historic monuments and its many museums, where you can learn more about a wide range of subjects. Throughout the Île-de-France region, these institutions open their doors to you, usually free of charge, for guided tours, themed walks or events for young and old alike. The Yvelines département, south of Paris, is packed with little nuggets and towns that have welcomed artists, kings and queens and famous personalities.

Direction Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, in the valley of the same name, where Raymond Devos, Marie Curie and the Coubertin family came to spend their days relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the capital. Their estates are dotted around the city, including the Coubertin estate, home to the Jardin des bronzes, a collection of sculptures and a 30-hectare park. In this verdant setting, you'll find numerous historical relics and charming , relaxing gardens , just a stone's throw from hiking trails that take you through the Natural Park.

It's a great opportunity to take a stroll along the canal path, through some twenty pretty flower-bedecked footbridges that lead to picturesque stone houses, old wash-houses and a medieval castle, and to make some wonderful discoveries as you step back in time, on September 21 and 22, 2024.
