Heritage Days 2024: a unique adventure with Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde in Bagneux

This year, the Journées du Patrimoine 2024 in France will take place over the weekend of September 21 and 22! And for the occasion, Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde, based in Bagneux, is preparing a Grand Voyage! For two days, you'll be able to follow a precise route to discover the beauty of the surrounding towns, punctuated by performances by circus artists.

This exploration of the Parisian suburbs, organized as part of the Journées du Patrimoine 2024 (Heritage Days 2024), aims to invite spectators to reflect on the notion of heritage, remembering that it's not limited to great monuments. Enriched by unexpected artistic interventions from Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde, this adventure allows visitors to discover the rich heritage of the suburbs around Bagneux, and to take a fresh look at the architecture of these towns, often criticized for being little-known.

The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) give Parisians and tourists the chance to discover monuments, historic buildings and cultural sites that are usually closed or not easily accessible, either free of charge or at a reduced rate. The themes vary each year, highlighting different aspects of architectural, artistic and historical heritage. In 2024, the focus will be on the transmission of know-how and traditions, offering a unique opportunity to meet craftsmen or artists, such as the circus performers from Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde in Bagneux.

• Le Grand Voyage

  Join us on Saturday, September 21 at 9 a.m. at the Théâtre de l'Azimut in Châtenay-Malabry for the start of the Grand Voyage, a two-day walking tour designed to highlight the route, the journey, the interval between departure and arrival, the in-between... the journey.
  Through the practice of walking as a means of travel freed from the pre-established constraints of communication routes, the Grand Voyage proposes to see what we don't usually see, to take alternative paths, to discover invisible cities...
  Le Grand Voyage is organized by the Plus Petit Cirque du Monde in partnership with the CAUE des Hauts-de-Seine. The aim of the event is to take a fresh look at our cities, and to highlight the heritage and polymorphous nature of the suburbs
  Indeed, the urban peripheries reflect a heterogeneous spatial and social reality in terms of architectural, urban and landscape typologies, as well as the diversity of its populations. This context makes them a precious but fragile breeding ground for cultural wealth.
  The heritage value and qualities of peripheral urban spaces are often misunderstood and sometimes disputed. The Grand Voyage is an invitation to (re)discover and showcase the richness and plurality of the tangible and intangible heritage of the areas we visit. This year, the Grand Voyage will cross the towns of Châtenay-Malabry, Sceaux and Bagneux, exploring the theme of "emptiness as heritage".
  The Grand Voyage is also an artistic highlight, with several circus artists and musicians punctuating the route and offering a sensitive and poetic reading of it. Here, the body confronts space and reveals its potential. This year, these impromptus performances will be provided by the Galapiat Cirque company.
