It's an exciting event not to be missed in September. The European Heritage Days are coming to the Paris region for a weekend of fascinating discoveries, with free tours,unusual events andexceptional openings. We'll be exploring the treasures of Paris and the Île-de-France region in depth, conquering well-known and little-known sites, including museums, castles, churches, embassies, ministries, libraries and much more! It's also an opportunity to conquer the Ile-de-France heritage that surrounds the City of Light.
Located in the Yvelines department, the town of Bougival boasts a charm that inspired the Impressionist painters. The town's heritage is well worth the detour, and its setting is sublime, as it borders both the Seine and the Louveciennes forest. For the Journées du Patrimoine 2024 (Heritage Days 2024), you'll have the chance to enjoy a whole program of visits to the heart of its monuments and other treasures. Ivan Tourguéniev, a Russian man of letters and a European before his time, had a "dacha"-style chalet built in Bougival, on the same plot as Pauline and Louis Viardot's property. From 1875 until his death in 1883, he lived close to his dearest friends. Maison des Illustres, member of the "Route Historique des Ecrivains" and the "Fédération des maisons d'écrivains et patrimoine littéraire", in partnership with the town, the ATVM association brings this magical place to life through visits.

Exhibition "Impressionism in France and Europe"
Created by the European network Impressionisms Routes©, Cultural Itinerary of the Council of Europe, and composed of reproductions of works and didactic panels, this exhibition shows and explains the importance of the Impressionist movement throughout 19th-century Europe, and its influence right up to the present day.
