It's a long-awaited spotlight. In November 2016, cult Parisian cinema La Pagode was forced to close its doors. That same year, the Etoile Cinémas group to which it belonged won the call for projects in the Réinventer Paris competition organized by the mayor's office. The Etoile Voltaire concept was born.
The project was originally scheduled to get underway in 2018 and then 2026, but Parisians have had to wait and see. By 2026, we should finally be able to discover this new cultural venue emerging in the 11th arrondissement from an unused building.
Here, a veritable temple of cinema awaits you, with five screening rooms. TheEtoile Voltaire will also be home to the Maison du Cinéma with the Société des Réalisateurs Français, offering master classes, cartes blanches and programming workshops.
La Bellevilloise will be in charge of the hall and its varied program, which will also include a café and a new solidarity restaurant. The icing on the cake is that this venue marks the opening of a new rooftop in the capital! On the roof ofEtoile Voltaire, a green terrace will offer a view over the 11th arrondissement.
We'll be on the lookout!
