This was an announcement highly expected by restaurateurs. This Sunday October 4 evening, the Prime Minister said the AFP that "restaurant may stay open in maximum alert areas with a reinforced health protocole". This is good news for Paris and its inner suburbs (Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne) as they move to maximum alert because of the rise of new Covid-19 cases in th territory.

This announcement also applies to restaurants in Marseille and Aix that can reopen from Monday at noon after closing down for several days, under the condition they implement a reinforced health protocole. In a press release, UMIH 13 president Bernard Marty listed some of the conditions such as keeping up with a callback book, putting tables 1.5 meters apart from each other, seated payment without forgetting closure of restaurants at 10 p.m.
Now, we have to wait and see if the opening conditions will be the same in Paris and its inner suburbs. New restrictions in Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne will be detailed at 11:30 a.m. this Monday October 5, 2020. Among the possible new restrictions, we can think of the total closure of bars.
