In November 2024, we're taking advantage of Smoke-Free Month to quit smoking. Since that's easier said than done, we've found a number of apps to help you take up the challenge.

It's decided, this time cigarettes are out! From November 1, 2024, we're taking advantage of Smoke-Free Month to put an end to our smoking habits. The road is full of obstacles, but fortunately there are many mobile applications to help us stop smoking. Whether you're looking for a fun, free or paid app, a social app, an app supported by the government or by doctors... you're bound to find one that will help you throw away your cigarettes for good.

You may need to try out different apps before you find the one that will motivate you. To begin your journey into the world of non-smokers, here are a few avenues to explore:

  • Smoke Free ( free application . Purchases via the application proposed):
Highly appreciated by users, Smoke Free shows you all the progress and benefits of quitting smoking. Its dashboard shows you how long you've been smoke-free, how much money you've saved, the improvements you've made to your health, your progress and your latest successes in the form of badges that you earn as you go along. The "Diary" function lets you keep track of cravings, relapses and all the obstacles you face.
To stay motivated, you can set yourself a reward: the app then calculates how long it will take you to afford this gift, thanks to the money you will no longer spend on tobacco. Daily missions also help you stay on track in the early stages. Our only regret is that the Advice section is only available in English.

  • Stop Smoking Assistant ( free app. In-app purchases suggested):
Very comprehensive application, but not available on the AppStore. Android users, on the other hand, can take advantage of an interface that tracks the progress you've made, and the damage caused by your former tobacco consumption. It's a great way to understand all the benefits of quitting smoking. Like Smoke Free, you can set goals for yourself: determine several gifts or activities you'd like to access with your new savings. All these goals allow you to see how much you can achieve without cigarettes.

  • QuitNow ! Quit Smoking ( free app ):
Again, this app gives you personalized guidance, a view of your goals and progress, and a summary of your gains. The real plus of this app is its social aspect: QuitNow lets you get in touch with other people who want to quit smoking. All together, you can encourage each other, give each other advice and distract each other so you don't give up. A community united by the same goal, and totally sympathetic to your difficulties.

  • Kwit ( free app. Purchases via app suggested):
Get help from this 100% French app! Kwit helps you stay motivated in your decision to quit smoking. A tried-and-tested , fun method: work your way up the levels to become the best Kwitter! To do this, you have to earn points, and to earn points, you have to go as long as possible without smoking. What's more, there are 60 achievements to unlock, some of which tell you about the benefits of quitting smoking for your body.
You also have access to useful statistics such as the time elapsed since you quit smoking, the money you've saved and the number of cigarettes you haven't smoked. These statistics are updated live.

  • Tabac Info Service ( free application ):
This government application offers 100% personalized support. You start by filling in a questionnaire, then benefit from tailored coaching and advice from tobacco specialists, accessible via the app. Very easy to use, it also offers numerous testimonials and advice from former smokers. Share your progress and receive encouragement from friends and family. Control your cravings with mini-games.
This application enables you to give up smoking
gradually, according to a strategy you choose. If you're worried about putting on weight when you stop, you'll be reassured: the app offers lots of advice, exercises and videos on relaxation and positive visualization.

  • Ouiquit ( free application for one month, then pay-as-you-go - 5.49 euros):
A game-based application to help you forget your cravings. Lots of statistics on the benefits for your health and your wallet. We like the four-step program to help you prepare for quitting, with tests, information and advice. There are also messages of encouragement and challenges delivered by a character. An alert button to activate if you feel like quitting launches mini-games to distract you (Power 4, Memory, a boxing game, fishing...). Tip: sharing your victories on social networks prolongs the free game experience.
We also like Ouichat, the forum for chatting with other future non-smokers. Pierre, theartificial intelligence, is always on hand to answer all your questions. Data analysis enables us to visualize the times of day when cigarette cravings are strongest, so we can prepare ourselves better. Big, big bonus: no registration is necessary, so you're in control of your personal data. A backup function is available in case you change phones.

Come on, this time it's for real! We're well on our way to quitting smoking. And, as the great French philosophers used to say: " Tobacco is taboo, we'll all get over it."
