Like during the first wave, Paris and its region are on the front row to face the second coronavirus epidemic wave. Mandatory facemask wearing in the streets, curfew, and now a new lockdown, more and more restrictions are implemented in Île-de-France.
Yet, even though lockdown could not be avoided, in Paris, the authorities take a tougher stand despite the implementation of this system. Paris prefect of police has ordered a decree "limiting delivery and take-away sale activities". In concrete words, starting November 6, 2020, take-away sales and deliveries provided by restaurants and bars will be banned in Paris between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Furthermore, "drinking and selling alcoholic drinks in a public place" are also banned between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
To justify of these new restrictions, the police prefect tells about gatherings noticed these past few days in Paris. "Police officers have noticed - specifically in the evening and night - gatherings and flows of people (delivery drivers, patrons...) by these places [...] Fruthermore, take-away sales of alcoholic drinks - especially from night stores, is likely to encourage nighttime gatherings, without complying with barrier gestures, in a public place and even the private sphere" he added.

This November 5 in the morning, Paris Mayor Anne Hildago announced some stores will close from 10 p.m. and Paris and the inner suburbs of Paris. A decree released by the prefect of police is to be published this Thursday. Are concerned places “where takeaway is available” the socialist elected representative said.
Invited on BFMTV on Tuesday November 3, 2020 government spokesperson Gabriel Attal shared his anger caused by the slackening noticed in Paris on October 31 and November 1, 2020. He also let a new restriction slip: a curfew on top of the lockdown in Paris and perhaps in Île-de-France.
The news has been denied by the government that said implementing a curfew in Paris “was definitely not decided so far”. But even if it was not recorded during Gabriel Attal’s interview, it has been the topic of many thoughts. “The prefect of police told about this measure given some situations noticed in the evening in Paris. For the record, since lockdown was set up in France again, 100,000 people have been controlled and 140,000 people have been fined in France.
