What is the situation in Île-de-France? As the coronavirus epidemic is experiencing an increase of infections in several French regions, the search for clusters goes on to control the spread of covid-19.
In Île-de-France - one of the most hit areas in France - the amount of clusters changes daily. In order to follow the situation, every week, the Agence Régionale de Santé - the local health agency - gives us details per department as of the active clusters in the Parisian area.
Since May 8, 2020 the day the containment exit started in France, 1,440 clusters have been detected. As of November 19, 2020, over 1,186 more since September have been reported, excluding nursing homes and restricted family environment. Out of the 1,440 clusters detected, 208 are still active as of November 19, 2020. 243 of the 1,186 clusters have been investigated and have been placed on high criticality. Yet, although these data are underestimated according to Santé Publique France, for the record, only 3.6% of the cases reported between May 15 and October 11, 2020 were related to clusters.
