RER D users in the Val-de-Marne will have to be patient this week. Due to infrastructure maintenance and modernization work, train traffic will be suspended in both directions between three major stations: Le Vert de Maisons, Créteil Pompadour and Villeneuve Triage. This temporary blockage will last from Monday December 16 to Friday December 20, 2024 inclusive, before returning to normal on Saturday December 21.
To support users during this period, the SNCF is providing replacement buses to connect the communes concerned. Although these solutions will help to limit the impact, they will not completely replace the usual fluidity and speed of trains. It is therefore advisable to plan ahead and allow for longer journey times.
These closures are part of a rail infrastructure modernization program, essential for improving the network's long-term safety and performance. While the current work will be completed by the end of the week, other partial closures are already scheduled for late December 2024 and early January 2025. These forthcoming interruptions will mainly affect the evening timetable, with no impact on the daytime.
The communes of Maisons-Alfort, Créteil and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, directly affected, will have to adapt to this temporary reorganization. This kind of disruption, though painful, remains a necessary step in the maintenance of a network as dense as that of the Île-de-France region.
To stay informed in real time, travellers are invited to consult the official SNCF and RATP platforms, which provide information on timetables and transport alternatives.
